YARMOUTH – In loving memory of Judith Carrie (Etter) Mosier, who passed from us on Jan. 3, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Throughout her illness she was tirelessly cared for by her companion of many years, Stephen Coughlin. She was comforted in her last moments by her sister, Carolyn.

Judy was born Nov. 11, 1944, to Frederick A. and Frances M. Etter in Portland and raised in Yarmouth at 119 Portland St. She spent her youth along the Casco Bay coast she loved, with summer times shared in the family camp on Pettengill Pond in North Windham. She graduated Yarmouth High School in 1962.

In 1965 Judy married her (then) Navy husband, Jack E. Mosier Sr., in the First Congregational Church, Yarmouth. Shortly after the birth of her son, Jack Jr., she settled in their new home in Freeport until eventually returning to Yarmouth as an empty nester. She resided on Bayview Street until her death.

Judy was an admired and energetic employee of L.L.Bean Freeport for over 20 years until her retirement. Not to be sidelined, she became a delivery driver for NAPA, whose customers were always charmed by her smile and sense of humor. She was known for handing out candy and small gift remembrances to her delivery customers. She was never at a loss for words and was charitable to a fault, endlessly performing kind deeds, oftentimes for complete strangers.

Judy is survived by her beloved son, Jack, daughter-in-law, Bonnie, two grandchildren, Thomas and Katlyn Mosier, of Freeport; her brother, Philip F. Etter, of Pittston, and her utterly devoted sister, Carolyn Jean (Etter) Jurack, of Hersey.

Cremation has taken place.

Remembrances may be made to the donors’ charity of choice, with preference given to preservation of Maine’s coast.
