Springhawk is go! Red Arrows touch down in Croatia for pre-season training
The RAF's iconic Red Arrows have taken to the skies above Croatia's snow-covered mountains and the Adriatic coast, marking the start of Exercise Springhawk.
This significant phase of pre-season training in Croatia is crucial for the distinguished team as they perfect their thrilling display for the upcoming summer season.
Croation aviation enthusiasts are in for a treat as the RAF's aerobatic team, renowned for their trademark precision, breathtaking formations and striking red, white and blue livery, will train in the skies above them.
The team took off from their home base of RAF Waddington for rigorous training to refine their manoeuvres and showcase the remarkable capabilities of their Hawk T1 jets.
Exercise Springhawk aims to refine the team's skills and synchronisation, ensuring they deliver a captivating spectacle seen by millions during summer airshows.

However, the exercise is about more than just impressing aviation fans on the ground.
During Ex Springhawk, senior RAF officers will assess the team and decide whether they should get a Public Display Authority.
If this is awarded, the team's pilots change from green coveralls into the Red Arrows' iconic red flying suits and the ground crew will be allowed to wear royal blue display coveralls.
