Salida Aspen Concerts recently announced in a press release its 2025 Music Teacher Grant Program, dedicated to “supporting and empowering music educators that are inspiring the next generation of musicians.”
A total of $5,400 is available to teachers of music lessons for K-12 grade students living within the Salida, Buena Vista, Cotopaxi or Custer County school district boundaries.
The program has been running for several years, but to date this is the largest amount to be awarded.
Individual award amounts will depend upon the number of applications received. Grant funds may be used at the teacher’s reasonable discretion for expenses such as purchasing music to be given to students, reducing the cost of music lessons, providing extra lessons or tutoring for students entering competitions or who have upcoming performance, providing enriching musical experiences and activities in the student's medium or to assist in the upkeep of an instrument.
