Marc Marquez narrowly overcame his brother Alex Marquez in the sprint race at Grand Prix Argentina on Saturday and TNT Sports expert Michael Laverty believes we saw shades of "the Marc of old" ahead of Sunday's race, live on TNT Sports and discovery+. "I think he had more in the locker if needed," Laverty said. "Right now he’s got it all under control."

Michael Laverty believes we saw "the Marc of old" on Saturday as Marc Marquez claimed victory in the sprint race at Grand Prix Argentina to continue a glittering spell.
Marquez has taken pole, already delivered a new lap record at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit and can now add a sprint race triumph to his dominant weekend.
Laverty feels that although Marquez controlled the race to defeat brother Alex Marquez - who finished second - there is still "more in the locker" from the Spaniard.
"It’s just another masterclass from the Marquez brothers," he told TNT Sports.
"Marc is executing [the plan] perfectly, he's got the factory Ducati, he’s got everything he needs and he just looks like the Marc of old.
"He went on the run in 2014, still controlled back then and not making mistakes, not been pushed too hard.

"I think he had more in the locker [today] if needed, he said he was on the limit and that Alex was pushing him, but he just doesn’t look on the limit, I still think there’s more in the tank if necessary, but right now he’s got it all under control."
The sprint victory continues an impressive start to Marquez's life alongside Francesco Bagnaia at Ducati Lenovo, after stepping up from the Gresini, which he raced on last season.
Alex's 'day will come' but Marc is 'in control'
Marquez was pushed all the way by his brother Alex on Sunday, but ultimately came out on top.
Laverty claimed that Alex will have his moment, but perhaps not right now with the red-hot form of Marc.
"I thought Alex might have a go at Marc at some point, but obviously, in that scenario you know that Marc has a 10th of a second advantage," Laverty said.

"For him, he scored nine points, he’s been second every time behind Marc, his day will come when he’s got a little bit more over Marc but right now, Marc’s in control."
Speaking after the race, Marquez said he is expecting a "tough" battle against Alex in the race on Sunday, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
"It was a very difficult victory, because Alex was pushing a lot," he said. "I was pushing, and the rhythm was amazing, because we were most of the race on 0.37, but I pushed some, laps a little bit more, but always, the gap will never increase.
"So I just keep pushing. Keep pushing the last laps. I think he started to slow down a bit, because the gap between third place was a lot, but tomorrow will be tough to fight with him, because he's super constant."
